Event Description

Celebrate the First Day of Fall with a 5-course dinner out in the field under the full moon!

Dinner prepared by local Chefs Ruben (Alma Kitchen & Catering)
, Josh (Chef Joshua Ferris), Josh (ACRES at Warren Tech), and Amy (Country Club at Castle Pines) with farm-fresh ingredients, and includes cocktail hour with Laws Whiskey House and beer pairings with Seedstock Brewery.

It's going to be a magical evening full of:

*tasty farm-fresh food
*local cocktails and beer pairings
*good discussion about urban farming and food access
*calls to action on how we can continue to build a resilient local food system in Denver, Colorado, and the nation!

We'll spark meaningful conversations about the work ahead of us as we feast on the best the season has to offer.

We hope you can join us for this special gathering of community to learn from each other and raise funds for food access and farm-based education programs across the city!

The farm is located on the south side of Mountair Park, adjacent to the light rail tracks and bike path.  From the park's parking lot along 14th Ave., follow the sidewalk down the hill to arrive in the lower field of the farm.  If parking along Depew St., follow 13th Ave. until it turns into the bike path to arrive in the lower field of the farm.  We will be enjoying dinner in the lower field and conducting tours of the upper field during cocktail & appetizer hour :)

Mountair Park Community Farm is a 1.5 acre organic vegetable farm established by Sprout City Farms in 2014, in partnership with the City of Lakewood.  The farm grows over 10,000 pounds of food per year for a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) share program, donation-based Farm Stand, nearby 11th Avenue Head Start Preschool, and donations to local food pantries.  The farm is a hub for community building and education and offers a free Summer Farm Camp for neighborhood children, volunteer days, tours, field trips, workshops, vocational training, internship and apprenticeship programs, and community events organized by the Community Advisory Committee throughout the season.

Sprout City Farms is an urban agriculture nonprofit cultivating educational urban farms that engage and strengthen communities.  We envision a thriving network of accessible city farms that nourish, and are nourished by, their surrounding community.  Since 2010, we have built 3 farm sites across the Denver metro area and continue to manage the Mountair Park and Denver Green School Community Farms.  For more information, please visit our website: www.sproutcityfarms.org!
